Sterling Industries is pleased to announce the addition of a third medical device manufacturing facility, located in Toronto, Canada, adding to the company’s existing facilities in Toronto and Kalamazoo, Michigan. The new space will facilitate the continued growth of Sterling’s contract manufacturing capabilities, including advanced automation, addressing demand for more complex medical device manufacturing projects. Moreover, Sterling will be moving its head office to the new 35,000 square foot facility.
The acquisition of increased manufacturing and office space is in response to Sterling’s rapid growth, and follows the company’s expansion into its other Toronto-area facility at the end of 2019, and expansion of its Kalamazoo facilities in 2020. Sterling Industries’ total production square footage has more than doubled in the last 18 months.
“The medical device industry continues to grow and Sterling is emerging as a leading turnkey manufacturing solution for our clients”, said David Van Slingerland, CEO. “We are thrilled to be growing, creating jobs, and working on innovative medical devices that improve the efficiency of our healthcare system and the well-being of patients around the world”, he added.
The new floor space will house expanded manufacturing capabilities, allow for more efficient production workflows, and add key supply chain expertise, while allowing further expansion of the company’s Class 7 Clean Room space at its other facilities. In addition, the company expects the increased capabilities, coupled with strong customer demand to result in the creation of 50 or more new, full-time manufacturing and engineering jobs in the next 12 months.
