The Healthcare Technology Report recently published their list of Toronto’s Top 25 Healthcare Technology Leaders in 2022, placing Sterling Industries’ CEO, David Van Slingerland, in the 6th spot. It was David’s second high-profile leadership award in as many months, having been awarded the Order of Vaughan in November.
The Healthcare Technology Report made note of the hundreds of jobs that have been created by Sterling Industries’ impressive growth under Van Slingerland’s leadership. It also cited Sterling’s remarkable response to provincial and federal governments’ plea for help for during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, as David and his team were able to quickly design, produce and deliver 30 million Canadian-made Class 1 Medical Device faceshields in 2020.
As CEO of Sterling Industries, David Van Slingerland has also been recognized for his active support of the local MedTech startup ecosystem, generously volunteering time and resources such as partnering with ventureLab to create a MedTech Innovation ‘wet’ Lab, as well as sponsoring, judging and mentoring MedTech entrepreneurs in Activate!Vaughan’s Health Innovation Challenge.
