At Sterling Industries, we’re proud of our long-standing partnership with ventureLAB — an innovation hub supporting Canadian hardware-focused startups, including up-and-coming medtech companies. Yesterday, our teams came together for a day of collaborative meetings to plan the next phase of growth for our joint Hardware Catalyst Initiative (HCI) “wet” lab.
The HCI MedTech Lab is a unique space hosted within Sterling Industries’ advanced manufacturing facilities. The lab and its advanced equipment helps Medtech companies validate their solutions early on, and prepare their technologies for the journey through prototyping, accreditation, early production and scaled manufacturing.
Expanding Access for Medtech Startups
Sterling Industries and ventureLAB leadership teams shared an exciting day together, charting a roadmap to significantly expand access to the wetlab and build awareness in the Canadian Medtech community.
The wet lab is well-situated in Vaughan’s healthcare centre precinct, benefitting from a region brimming with healthcare innovation, research and development. By hosting the lab within Sterling Industries’ advanced manufacturing space, companies in ventureLAB’s programs can work alongside experienced engineers who have worked on an impressive range of medtech solutions and have deep expertise in medical device manufacturing.
We are excited about the next phase of our collaboration with ventureLAB and looking forward to hosting more of Canada’s up-and-coming MedTech hardware startups. Keep your eye on our social media accounts for more news about the HCI MedTech Lab and ventureLAB’s Medtech programs!
