Sterling Industries has been selected as one of three finalists for the “Innovation & Tech Disruptor of the Year” award in the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce (VCC) 2024 Business Achievement Awards. The nomination recognizes Sterling Industries’ cutting-edge work in the Medtech and medical device manufacturing fields, as well as its contributions to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
In addition to its medical device manufacturing expertise and job creation, Sterling Industries has been a long time supporter of the local healthcare startup ecosystem, including a ground-breaking partnership with ventureLAB, a leading tech hub and incubator. Through the partnership, Sterling Industries hosts the state-of-the-art HCI Medtech Wet Lab, while its engineers provide valuable guidance to emerging companies commercializing new medical devices and healthcare solutions.
Sterling Industries has also worked closely with the City of Vaughan as it invests heavily into developing the Vaughan Healthcare Centre Precinct. This initiative aims to cement Vaughan and the surrounding area as a global center of excellence for healthcare innovation, research, and development of pioneering medical technologies.
“We are excited to be named a VCC awards finalist in this category,” said Van Slingerland. “Our team is passionate about helping bring innovative, patient-centric solutions to global markets, while supporting the next generation of homegrown Medtech pioneers.”
The winners will be announced at the VCC Business Achievement Awards gala on May 15, 2024. The “Innovation & Tech Disruptor” award recognizes businesses driving transformation through innovative technologies, products or services.
