Manufacturing Medical Devices for 40 years

About Sterling Industries

We Manufacture Success

Sterling Industries is a North American medical device contract manufacturer. We help clients — whether Fortune 100 OEMs, mid-sized medical device companies or late-stage “scale-ups” — deliver successful products by providing scaled manufacturing and assembly, DFM expertise, supply chain management, Cleanroom environments, automation, packaging and other integrated services.

Founded in 1984, Sterling Industries has produced a vast array of devices, spanning multiple medical device categories and core technologies.

We have over 160,000 square feet of advanced manufacturing space across facilities in both the United States (Kalamazoo, Michigan) and Canada (three locations in the Greater Toronto Area).

What matters most is our people: we have a large and growing team of dedicated engineers and medical device manufacturing technologists.

Working Together

We invest in the communities where we’re based, working closely with local government, healthcare organizations, universities, suppliers and innovative startups to help bring new healthcare solutions to medical professionals and patients, while creating new jobs and opportunities. In 2022, we launched a ground-breaking Medtech “wetlab” in partnership with ventureLab, providing space and cutting-edge technologies to help medical startups design and validate innovative solutions.

During the COVID-19 crisis, Sterling Industries moved quickly to develop and produce personal protection equipment (PPE) for federal and provincial governments, delivering nearly 30 million face shields in a matter of months.

Sterling Industries is ISO 13485:2016 certified, and is registered with both FDA and Health Canada. We are proud members of Medtech Canada and MichBio.
