Sterling Industries partners with new Hardware Angel Network

Vaughan ON  June 28, 2023 — Sterling Industries confirmed it will participate in the launch of Hardware Angel Network (HAN), Canada’s only hardware- and deep-tech focused investor network. Launched today by ventureLab at Collision 2023, HAN is tailored to the needs of hardware startups, and will offer curated investment opportunities to support companies building transformational products and solution that have global impact.

“There is a clear need to bring together hardware-focused startups and investors”, said David Van Slingerland, CEO of Sterling Industries. “We know from working with local Medical Device innovators that hardware innovation has a ripple effect, leading to more jobs, more capital investment, more partnerships, and stronger supply chains.”

As a private sector partner, Sterling looks to support Medtech-focused startups bringing innovative Medical Devices to market, while sharing insights and experience with more than 25 prominent Canadian investors who are founding members of the Hardware Angel Network. Sterling’s involvement extends its ongoing cooperation with York Region’s ventureLab, including partnership in the ground-breaking Medtech Innovation Lab, part of the incubator’s Hardware Catalyst Initiative. Designed to help Medtech startups refine and validate their solutions, Sterling Industries recently cut the ribbon for the new Lab, which it hosts inside one of its advanced manufacturing facilities.
