Due to growth at Sterling Industries, we have openings for Machine Operators Monday through Thursday on first shift (6:30am-4:30pm) and second shift (2pm – 12am). The Machine Operator will use of company resources (materials and equipment) to produce products to specification, on time, and complete to meet or exceed the expectations of our customers.
Major Duties:
- Set up and operating of production equipment in accordance with work instructions and process parameters by utilizing metrology equipment
- Completion of production documentation (work orders, TPM’s, control plans) in accordance with the quality management system
- Identification of non-conforming product
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Conserves resources by optimizing use of equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Movement of materials within the production work space
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Ability to work in a safe manor in accordance with safety policies within the production environment
Position Requirements:
- Must have basic math skills (decimal systems, subtraction, addition)
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow work instructions
- Experience in manufacturing and quality systems
- Previous machine operating experience
- Ability to keep a positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- High School Diploma
- Technical analysis and problem solving ability
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Team Player
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs
